In the post-pandemic scenarios, the process to hire a good candidate has become hard. Before the pandemic, the candidates had to give in-person interviews. But during the covid pandemic, the interview process shifted towards online mode. Now as many people are vaxxed and the covid situation is coming under control, several companies are using a hybrid form of recruitment. They are using both the traditional and the online modes of requirement. Let’s see some of the challenges recruiters are facing in the post-pandemic recruitment scenarios. 

Problems Faced In the Recruitment Process

  1. Candidate’s Desire to Work with A Better Brand And in A Better Environment

The pandemic has raised the bar of expectation of the candidates. They have found out the value of their work. During the pandemic, they have upskilled themselves and are now looking for better brands to work for. Candidates are not ready to work in a position that does not provide the right value for the work they do and does not reward them accordingly. To solve this issue, companies have to provide a better work environment along with other benefits to their employees. 

  1. Long Interview Process

Many companies are scheduling longer interview processes, this is also a reason why many candidates are not showing interest in taking an interview. To solve this issue recruiters are shifting towards a one-day interview process. It is relatively faster and less tiring for the candidates.

  1. Search Of Multitalented Employees

As the bar of desire is rising for the candidates, so for the companies also. They are looking for candidates who can do multiple tasks and hence benefit the company in the long run. The requirement agencies are ready to pay higher packages to the candidates who are multi-talented. For example, a recruiter is gravitated towards hiring a candidate, even with a higher package, who knows both ‘Full-stack development’ and ‘process engineering than a person who only knows one of them. 

  1. Task Round

In many interview processes, there is a task round where candidates have to do certain tasks to prove their skills and capabilities. In some cases, this round is so hard that many candidates quit the interview process in this step. The main problem is that the candidates are given long and hard tasks to complete. As a result, the candidates are exhausted even only looking at the task. To solve this issue, the recruiter has to create shorter tasks, else make and provide the long task in a fragmented manner. 

  1. Job Quitting

Many employees are quitting their job in which they are not valued properly and where they do not find proper work-life balance. One of the best and most historic examples is the recent “great resignation”. Where thousands of American workers quit their job due to less satisfaction and less value for their work. Another thing is that many employees are also offered better job offers that they cannot resist and are quitting their previous position. As a result, the procedure to find a good and valuable candidate has become a hard process. 

Conclusion

         Recruiters have to make sure that they are not relying on the outdated method of recruiting and are choosing the right candidates for their company. They also have to make sure that there is a reduction in the number of entry barriers and right people are getting chances to appear for the interview. In this way, we can address and solve the recruitment challenges in the post-pandemic scenario.
